To join the Georgia WebMBA®, you will apply to one of our six affiliate
schools. Each school reviews applicants based on published admissions standards. We will review your undergraduate GPA, GMAT
score (unless waived) and business
pre-requisite courses.
Applicants must have at least two years of professional business experience.
The Web MBA Executive Director works closely with you and the MBA directors
to determine the best match in selecting your school of admission.
General Requirements
Each school requires specific documents for application. These typically include:
- Official GMAT
score report: Because each school admits its own students into the common program, GMAT requirements vary by school. Most of our schools require the GMAT, although GMAT waivers are considered by all six of our schools.
- Columbus State University, Georgia Southern University, Kennesaw State University, and Valdosta State University will consider a GMAT waiver for applicants with an advanced degree (e.g., Master's).
- Georgia Southern applicants may petition to have the GMAT requirement waived. Under certain circumstances, a GMAT waiver may be considered. Students meeting admissions criteria can be admitted on a provisional basis until the admissions committee makes a final determination.
- Columbus State University will allow applicants with extensive experience to petition the graduate committee for an exception to the GMAT/GRE requirement.
- Georgia College WebMBA applicants may petition to substitute significant professional experience in place of the GMAT/GRE. Please contact the Director of Graduate Programs in Business for a copy of the guidelines for using professional experience as an admission criterion. Successful applicants typically report eight to ten years of full-time professional experience after receiving a bachelor's degree.
- Kennesaw State University will consider a GMAT waiver for applicants with substantial management experience, as determined by its admissions committee.
- Georgia Southern University: To be considered as a candidate for the MBA program, a prospective student must have a baccalaureate degree from an accredited College or University. Admission to the MBA Program is competitive and decisions are made on a rolling-basis. Seats are filled as decisions are made, so candidates are encouraged to complete their applications as soon as possible.
Please click here to access our on-line application: https://www.applyweb.com/apply/gasou/menu.html The Program looks at a variety of criteria that measure the candidate's potential for being a successful graduate student and business leader. Factors used in determining admission include: past academic performance; GMAT score and professional work experience. Under certain circumstances, a GMAT waiver may be considered. For more information on the admissions process, please contact the MBA Program office at 912.478.5767.
- University of West Georgia will consider a GMAT waiver for applicants with substantial management experience, as determined by its admissions committee.
- Valdosta will consider a waiver based on substantial business experience, which the admissions committee determines.
- Both Columbus State and Valdosta will also accept the GRE instead of the GMAT.
- Program directors will provide the specific GMAT standards required for admissions into their schools. They also will help you find resources to prepare for the test.
- Official transcript of undergraduate GPA, degree and major completion
date, courses, and institution.
- Applicants interested in GMAT waivers may fax or send an unofficial
copy of their transcripts and their resume directly to the MBA office at
their school of application. Contact information for all MBA directors
is listed in our Participating Institutions section. The director will make an initial review of your transcript for both waiver potential and to identify if business pre-requisite courses are needed.
- Documentation of completion of pre-requisites (business
foundation courses)
- The TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) is required for those whose
primary language is not English.
The Georgia WebMBA® will begin its fall cohorts with an on-site orientation on
August 13 & 14, 2010.
Courses begin
August 26, 2010.
