The College of Business at Georgia College is one of the founding members of the Georgia WebMBA®. As is true of the other participating institutions, our undergraduate and graduate programs are AACSB accredited. The college's graduate office can provide the support services necessary to enable you to successfully complete a Web-based MBA. We believe that one of our distinctive competencies relative to other consortium schools is our ability to provide individualized attention and professional advising services.

Georgia College is recognized nationally for the quality of its programs. For example, in a recent U.S. News and World Report ranking, in the category of "Top Public Universities" for Master's degrees in the South, Georgia College ranked 11th. In the overall rankings, Georgia College ranked 31st among both public and private Master's universities in the South. For three consecutive years, Georgia College has been named "A Best in the Southeast" college by The Princeton Review, which places it in an elite group of 25% of the nation's 2,500 four-year colleges.

We review your application materials to help determine your likelihood of success in a Web-based MBA program. Successful applicants combine relevant professional experience with a prior record of academic achievement and a competitive score on the GMAT exam. In some cases, applicants with significant professional experience after receiving a bachelor's degree may use that experience as an alternative to the GMAT.

Regardless of academic background, you are expected to be fluent in the following foundation areas: accounting, finance, statistics, and economics. You may be able to use undergraduate coursework to satisfy these requirements. Applicants who are not fluent with foundation course materials through recent coursework or professional experience are encouraged to take the modules as a refresher.

We encourage you to carefully consider Georgia College as your home for the Georgia WebMBA®. We look forward to hearing from you.

At the University of West Georgia, our commitment to educational excellence in a personal environment guides everything we do, and has led to numerous recognitions. UWG is identified by The Princeton Review as one of The Best Southeastern Colleges. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution recognized UWG as being #1 among metro Atlanta institutions in terms of coverage of classes with full-time faculty and administrators. The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools recently reaffirmed UWG's accreditation and gave the University a rare commendation for technology resources, equipment and support, which a SACS accreditation visiting team called "far above that of similar institutions."

The Richards College of Business (RCOB) was endowed with a gift from the Richards family to support continued excellence in education, which has been instrumental in RCOB faculty achievement. Our academic business programs at both the graduate and undergraduate levels maintain the highest level of excellence with their accreditation by AACSB International - The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, a distinction achieved by fewer than fifteen percent of business schools worldwide. In addition, the RCOB is one of only approximately four percent of schools with separate AACSB accreditation for our accounting program.

According to the Atlanta Business Chronicle, the RCOB ranks 4th in area business schools by enrollment. RCOB faculty are recognized as among leading teachers and researchers in the country. Recent awards include recognition by the Decision Sciences Institute for one of the three most innovative courses in the United States and induction of faculty into Academic Who's Who. RCOB faculty have been named Academy of Economics and Finance Teaching Fellow, Georgia Business Woman of the Year, included in Ebony Magazine's "30 Young Leaders Under 30" and Georgia Business Education Teacher of the Year. Other faculty have received national awards for research and been quoted in The Wall Street Journal.
